A little while ago the Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan with aboard the three new crew members Serena Auñón-Chancellor, Sergey Prokopyev and Alexander Gerst to be transported to the International Space Station carrying three new crew members. The Soyuz traveled on the 2-day path.
A little while while ago the astronauts Scott Tingle and Norishige Kanai and the cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov returned to Earth on the Soyuz MS-07 spacecraft, that landed without problems in Kazakhstan. The three of them spent almost 6 months on the International Space Station, where they arrived on December 19, 2017 as part of Expedition 54.
The Orbital ATK Cygnus spacecraft, launched on May 21, has just reached the International Space Station and was captured by Canadarm2 robotic arm. Astronaut Scott Tingle, assisted by his colleagues Ricky Arnold, and Drew Feustel, will soon begin the slow maneuver to move the Cygnus until it docks with the Station’s Unity node after about two hours.
A little while ago Orbital ATK’s Cygnus spacecraft blasted off atop an Antares rocket from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS), part of NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility (WFF) on Wallops Island. After about nine minutes it successfully separated from the rocket’s last stage went en route to its destination. This is its ninth official mission, called Orbital-9 or simply Orb-9 but also CRS OA-9, to transport supplies to the International Space Station for NASA.
A few hours ago the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft ended its CRS-14 (Cargo Resupply Service 14) mission for NASA splashing down smoothly in the Pacific Ocean a little more than 420 kilometers (about 326 miles) off the coast of California. The Dragon left the International Space Station a few hours before.
Shortly after landing, SpaceX boats went to retrieve the Dragon to transport it to the coast. The cargo brought back to Earth will be delivered to NASA soon, probably tomorrow. The Dragon spacecraft reached the International Space Station on april 4, 2018.
